The Space
The room sits inside Makuhari Neighborhood Dock, bright and modern with plenty of indoor seats and an open-air terrace looking out over the bay park's landscaping, easy to find a seat on a weekday and full by Saturday.
The Coffee
The iced latte on a medium roast Colombian came through aromatic and cleanly extracted, no bitterness pushing past the milk. Light, medium and dark roasts are all on offer, and decaf is on the menu too.
The apple pie and the medium roast Colombian both delivered. Go on a weekday if the terrace is the point.
The Vibe
Staff are friendly and the pace is unhurried, better suited to sitting alone with a coffee and a pastry than opening a laptop. Weekends bring the crowds, so a weekday morning is the better bet for quiet.
The Verdict
Order the apple pie or the quiche, both hold up next to the coffee. Come for a solo sit or to watch the neighbourhood go by, and leave the laptop at home.
