The Space
Blue Mug is a stylish, glass-fronted room with plenty of seating inside and a covered terrace where dogs are welcome. The counter up front is stacked with the day's baked goods, which is doing more of the work here than the espresso machine.
The Coffee
The coffee came out underextracted, thin where it should have had body. Skip it in favor of the quiche plate, a proper lunch with decent bread and a side salad, or one of the pastries off the counter.
Order the quiche and the cannelé. The coffee still needs work.
The Vibe
The room and the staff both pull their weight, a bright, inviting space with genuinely friendly service. It reads as somewhere built for a slow afternoon with a book rather than a quick coffee stop.
The Verdict
