Atmosphere, Solo-Friendliness, and Staying Power all take a real hit from an unfriendly encounter with staff, the kind of thing that keeps this out of Steep Pick territory despite the cup itself. Online reviews consistently describe the staff as friendly, so this may be an isolated visit rather than the norm.

The Space
Kurasu Ebisugawa is a small space on Ebisugawa Street, built around a genuinely distinctive concept: every drink is made with the same retail home-brew gear sold in the shop, not an espresso machine. It is easy to see why this draws a crowd.
The Coffee
The coffee itself is no doubt excellent, well-extracted and worth the trip on its own. This is a pour-over and filter destination, not an espresso stop, and the cup backs up the reputation.
This could have been an easy Steep Pick. The service leaves a lot to be desired.
The Vibe
Staff here felt like they had a chip on their shoulder rather than the warmth other reviews describe, a genuinely unfriendly encounter that ran counter to what we expected walking in. Hopefully this was an off day rather than a pattern.
The Verdict
The coffee alone is worth the visit, and this could easily have been a Steep Pick if the service had matched it. We will go back and see if it does.
