A compact storefront on a pedestrian lane in Parte Vieja, with high-top tables inside and a small street-facing patio. Stone walls and polished concrete, and the La Marzocco sits center stage on the bar like it knows exactly what it is.
The Coffee
The cappuccino is textbook: balanced, not too milky, with a clean finish that asks you to order another. Beans are roasted in-house and sourced through Nordic Approach, rotated seasonally, and the difference shows in every cup.
Weekend mornings fill fast enough that the team runs a beeper queue, which tells you everything about how the locals feel about it.
The Vibe
Brazilian founders, Australian specialty training, Basque address. It is an unlikely combination that feels entirely natural, and the brunch menu is as carefully considered as the coffee program: avocado toast and poached eggs alongside jamón ibérico on tomato bread, cinnamon rolls still warm.
The Verdict
Old Town Coffee opened in 2015 as one of the first specialty operations in San Sebastian and a decade later it still sets the standard. Solo breakfast on the patio, watching Parte Vieja wake up, is one of the better ways to start a morning in this city.
