Grand Central Dist — St. Petersburg* The second Black Crow has the same artsy streak, plenty of seats indoors and out, and friendly staff, but the cortado we ordered did not keep up. ## The Steep Index Atmosphere leads on an artsy room that still feels inviting, with solo close behind. The coffee is the weak point: a burnt, under pulled cortado that kept this well short of a Steep Pick. - Coffee / Drink Quality: 6.4/10 - Atmosphere: 9.0/10 - Solo-Friendliness: 8.7/10 - Value: 7.4/10 - Staying Power: 7.5/10 - Overall: 7.8/10 Perfect for: reading, people watching ## The Space The room is artsy without trying to keep you out. There is a lot of seating, both inside and out, so it rarely feels like you are fighting for a table. Even the dine-in drinks come in paper cups, which takes a little of the shine off. ## The Coffee The cortado tasted burnt and under pulled, which is an odd pair of flaws to land together, and it did not match the care that went into the room. The croissant was a different story, moist and genuinely delicious, and the better half of the order by some distance. > Order the croissant. Think twice about the cortado. ## The Vibe Staff were convivial and the crowd was affable, the kind of place where strangers nod at each other. It suits a solo visit well, whether you bring a book, want to switch off, or just watch the street. ## The Verdict A lovely room and a warm welcome, let down by one badly made drink.
