RISE COFFEE - Flagship Store — Bangkok

Tucked at the back of Mahatun Plaza on a quiet stretch off Ploenchit, RISE runs a laboratory-clean micro-roastery where the orange cold brew alone is worth tracking the place down for.

The Steep Index

Coffee earns an 8.9. RISE roasts its own beans in the adjoining micro-roastery in full view of the room, and the orange cold brew lives up to the reputation with real, layered flavor rather than a gimmick pour. Atmosphere tops the card at 9.0, a laboratory-clean, minimalist room with orange-accented panels that reads as progressive rather than cold, and it is genuinely one of the more striking cafe interiors in the city. Solo sits at 8.6, quiet and unhurried enough to disappear into your own thoughts for a while. Value comes in at 7.8, consistent with specialty pricing across Bangkok's better cafes. Staying is the only number that dips slightly, to 8.2, since there are no power outlets and the small room fills up quickly once the afternoon rush arrives.

  • Coffee / Drink Quality: 8.9/10
  • Atmosphere: 9.0/10
  • Solo-Friendliness: 8.6/10
  • Value: 7.8/10
  • Staying Power: 8.2/10
  • Overall: 8.5/10

The Space

RISE sits tucked into the back of Mahatun Plaza, set back from the noise of Ploenchit Road on a quieter stretch that takes a minute to find on your first visit. Inside, the room is laboratory-clean and minimalist, white surfaces and orange-accented panels framing a micro-roastery working in full view.

The Coffee

The orange cold brew is the one to order, bright and genuinely flavorful in a way that earns the attention it gets online. RISE roasts its own beans next door in the adjoining lab, and that in-house rigor shows across the rest of the menu too.

The orange cold brew alone justifies finding your way to the back of Mahatun Plaza.

The Vibe

Progressive and unpretentious, the kind of space that invites you to sit alone with a book or your thoughts without ever feeling like you are being watched. It fills up fast in the afternoon, so an early visit is the better move.

The Verdict

RISE earns its reputation as one of Bangkok's better specialty cafes, minimalist design, serious in-house roasting, and a cold brew worth the detour. Find the door at the back of Mahatun Plaza, order the orange cold brew, and settle in before the afternoon crowd does.
