Cafes and bars in Santos, Lisbon
A steep few streets between the river and Estrela, and the closest thing Lisbon has to a brunch district. Most of it sits within a couple of minutes of Rua Santos-o-Velho, close enough to see one queue from the next, and the rooms are not interchangeable. Some take the coffee as seriously as the kitchen and pour a latte worth the detour on its own. At least one is a genuine food destination where the cup is along for the ride. Come hungry, come early, and pick according to whether the coffee matters to you.
