Blend Station

Polanco · Mexico City · Steep Index 8.3/10

Blend Station — Mexico City

A relaxed, spacious Polanco cafe with excellent coffee and a genuinely good brunch, order the Benedictiones Blend alongside the latte.

The Steep Index

Coffee Quality and Atmosphere both lead, a well-made latte and a room that stays relaxed rather than rushed. Solo-Friendliness holds up just as well, genuinely spacious enough to open a laptop or sit alone without feeling out of place. Value is the one axis that gives, prices run a little high for a straightforward cafe menu, but the coffee makes the case for it.

  • Coffee / Drink Quality: 8.8/10
  • Atmosphere: 8.6/10
  • Solo-Friendliness: 8.6/10
  • Value: 7.7/10
  • Staying Power: 7.8/10
  • Overall: 8.3/10

Perfect for: brunch, working alone, slow weekend, espresso pilgrimage, reading

The Space

The room sits in one of Polanco's nicer stretches, relaxed and chilled rather than styled for a quick photo, with enough space to spread out solo or bring a laptop. It's part of a small Mexico City chain, with sister locations in Condesa and Roma, but this Horacio branch doesn't feel like a copy-paste outpost.

The Coffee

The espresso program is genuinely excellent, and the Aeropress runs on Oaxacan beans for anyone who wants something slower than a latte. The latte itself is well made, good tasting coffee that pairs nicely with the Benedictiones Blend, a scrumptious plate worth ordering alongside it.

The latte hit the spot. The room gives you room to actually sit with it.

The Vibe

Staff are nice without being intrusive, and the room stays relaxed enough that nobody rushes you out. People actually use the space to work or linger.

The Verdict

Order the latte and the Benedictiones Blend together, and stay if the room lets you, it usually does. A little pricey for a cafe, but the coffee and the food both back it up.
