The Space

CUMBÉ runs a genuinely laid-back room in Roma, part of a small brand that also roasts out of a separate Tostadora location and started life in Melbourne. This Monterrey bar is the one to know, cool without trying to be, and popular with the neighborhood regulars as much as anyone passing through.

The Coffee

The coffee and pastries both hold up well here, an easy pairing for an unhurried sit. Locals clearly treat this as their regular spot, and that kind of loyalty is hard to fake.

The owner is friendly, the room is unpretentious, and nobody's in a hurry.

The Vibe

It's easy to sit here alone, talk to the person next to you, and lose track of time, which seems to be exactly the point. The owner's warmth sets the tone for the whole room.
