Shawn sits down a quiet lane in Taipei's Minsheng Community, easy to walk past, plain signage and little from the street to suggest what is inside. Cross the threshold and the room turns homey, softened by quiet background music and window seating that looks out over the lane.
The Coffee
The latte came out genuinely great, poured by a team trained under one of Taiwan's best-known latte art figures, and it is easy to see why a shop this quiet holds a real reputation. The tiramisu paired well alongside it, a proper match rather than an afterthought pastry.
The outside gives nothing away. The latte inside is reason enough to smile.
The Vibe
Quiet and unhurried, built for sitting alone with a coffee rather than rushing through one. Wifi and outlets are available here, and the background music sits low enough to actually think over.
The Verdict
Easy to walk straight past and worth doubling back for. A genuine Steep Pick on the latte alone, the tiramisu is a good reason to stay a while longer.
