Cafe Klimt is clean, modern, and exactly cool enough for a Tachikawa summer afternoon, but two visits in, the iced latte still tastes like flavoured milk.

The Space
Cafe Klimt's room is clean and modern, the kind of space that photographs well and carries genuine European-cafe ambitions, named for the painter and built with that same considered, contemporary polish. It sits a minute from Tachikawa Station's north exit, an easy stop to duck into.
The Coffee
The iced latte is thin and milk-forward, more milk than coffee on both visits, a real letdown given the room's ambitions. The espresso program leans on Klimt's own house blend, but the execution has not matched the space around it either time.
Two visits in, the iced latte still tastes like flavoured milk.
The Vibe
This is a good place to sit alone and unwind, especially in the dog days of summer when the air conditioning alone is worth the visit. Quiet, comfortable, and unhurried.
The Verdict
Cafe Klimt looks the part and gives solo visitors a genuinely comfortable place to sit, but the coffee has disappointed twice now, and that is the thing a cafe actually has to get right. Come for the room and the air conditioning, not the iced latte.
