Staying Power holds up best of the five, the room itself reads like a real cafe space rather than a stand. Coffee Roastery Meguro sits a few minutes from Yokohama Chinatown, with a roasting machine in view and a Flair espresso lever displayed on a table like a piece of art. The room alone suggests a serious operation.
The Coffee
The iced latte came out watered down, barely more than cold milk with a trace of espresso in it. Whatever the equipment on display promises, this cup did not deliver on it.
It's a shame. They've clearly invested in the room, a decent roaster in plain view and a Flair lever machine displayed on a table like a piece of art. The coffee and the service didn't match it.
The Vibe
Staff came across as unwelcoming and unfriendly, and the service felt perfunctory throughout the visit. It showed in more than the greeting, it showed in how the drink itself was made.
The Verdict
The room here, a proper roaster and a Flair lever displayed like art, deserves better than this. Until the service and the cup catch up to what is on display, this one is easy to skip.
