KOFF & BUN at Song Wat
Song Wat, Samphanthawong · Bangkok · Steep Index 8.0/10

KOFF & BUN occupies a beautifully restored shophouse on Song Wat Road, and the second floor's chill, considered decor is the best reason to come, ahead of the coffee menu itself, which tries to do a little too much.
The Steep Index
Coffee comes in lowest at 7.0. The Americano Yuzu was an interesting idea, but the yuzu overpowered the espresso rather than complementing it, and the menu is extensive enough that focus becomes the real question, sometimes a shorter list executed well beats a long one that spreads itself thin. Atmosphere is the strength here at 8.8, a heritage shophouse with a second floor that is genuinely chill and thoughtfully decorated, easily one of the better rooms on Song Wat Road. Solo sits at 8.6, this is a legitimately good spot to sit alone and take your time. Value holds at 7.8 and staying at 7.8, both solid without being remarkable.

Perfect for: working alone, people watching
The Space
KOFF & BUN sits inside a beautifully restored shophouse on Song Wat Road, and the second floor is the reason to go upstairs, chill, considered decoration overlooking the street below. It is a genuinely good room to sit in for a while.
The Coffee
The Americano Yuzu is an interesting idea on paper, but the yuzu ends up overpowering the espresso rather than working alongside it, a somewhat disappointing result. The menu is extensive, maybe too extensive, and a shorter list executed with more focus would likely serve the coffee better than the current breadth of choices.
The second floor is why you stay. The menu is why you should order carefully.
The Vibe
A genuinely cool place to chill out solo, the second floor decoration does a lot of work here, considered without trying too hard. Easy to settle into for a while.
The Verdict
KOFF & BUN earns real points for atmosphere and solo comfort, the second floor alone is worth the visit. The coffee menu could use a tighter edit though, fewer choices made well would likely beat the current spread.
