NANA Coffee Roasters Ari

Ari, Phaya Thai · Bangkok · Steep Index 7.9/10

NANA Coffee Roasters Ari — Bangkok

NANA Coffee Roasters Ari is a two-story, glass-and-timber spectacle built for Instagram, and the cold brew backs it up. The service at the register does not.

The Steep Index

Coffee earns a 9.0. The cold brew was intensely aromatic and genuinely flavorful, and the tuna sandwich held its own too, this is a kitchen and bar that knows what it is doing. Atmosphere sits at 8.9, a two-story build of glass, warm timber, and garden greenery that is one of the more striking specialty cafes in Bangkok, airy downstairs, quieter up top. Staying comes in at 7.9, good enough to want to linger in a room this well designed, but not quite enough to erase what happens at the register. Value drops to 7.2, food here runs expensive and the 800 baht minimum for card payment reads as a steep ask on top of already premium pricing. Solo is the low point at 6.5, the background noise makes it a poor fit for reading or working alone, and the barista behind the counter was visibly more interested in her phone than the person standing in front of her, which is a real problem for a cafe built entirely around specialty coffee credentials.

  • Coffee / Drink Quality: 9.0/10
  • Atmosphere: 8.9/10
  • Solo-Friendliness: 6.5/10
  • Value: 7.2/10
  • Staying Power: 7.9/10
  • Overall: 7.9/10

Perfect for: people watching, impressing someone

The Space

NANA Coffee Roasters Ari occupies a two-story build of glass, warm timber, and garden greenery in the heart of Ari, an airy ground floor and a quieter mezzanine upstairs. It is genuinely one of the more photogenic specialty cafes in Bangkok, and it knows it.

The Coffee

The cold brew is the reason to trust the roastery reputation, intensely aromatic and full of flavor in a way that made for a genuinely pleasant sit. NANA roasts more than thirty single origins in house and offers siphon, pour-over, and espresso, and on the strength of the cup alone this easily could have been a Steep Pick.

If the service here matched the coffee and the room, this would be an easy Steep Pick.

The Vibe

The room is loud and bustling rather than calm, which makes it a poor fit for reading or working solo, and on our visit the barista at the register seemed more engaged with her phone than with the people in front of her. For a specialty coffee shop built on craft credentials, the hospitality did not match the ambition.

The Verdict

NANA Coffee Roasters Ari nails the visual spectacle and the cup itself, the cold brew and the tuna sandwich were both genuinely good, but overly priced food, a steep 800 baht card minimum, and service that felt performative rather than present keep this out of Steep Pick territory. Come for the coffee and the room, and know that the reception at the counter may not live up to either.
