Honest Greens Serrano
Recoletos, Salamanca · Madrid · Steep Index 8.5/10 · Steep Pick

A healthy-food restaurant with a coffee program good enough to be the actual reason to visit, tucked into one of Madrid's most upscale shopping streets.
The Steep Index
Honest Greens Serrano does the rare thing of taking both halves of its name seriously, the food and the coffee. The hot latte and the avocado toast on this visit were both genuinely excellent, and the room itself is lively and welcoming rather than the sterile health-food aesthetic the concept could have leaned on. The catch is popularity itself, arrive early or expect a real wait once lunch service starts.

The Space
Set on Calle de Serrano in the middle of Salamanca's upscale shopping strip, the room is lively and welcoming, with a genuine buzz rather than the clinical feel some healthy-food concepts fall into. Staff are friendly, and a real terrace out front makes it an easy stop to sit for a while.
The Coffee
The hot latte was second to none, the kind of coffee that would hold up in a dedicated specialty cafe, let alone a healthy-food restaurant. The espresso program here is a genuine reason to come back on its own, not just a drink to go with the food.
The latte here is as good as the avocado toast, which is not something most healthy-food restaurants can say.
The Vibe
It works well for solo mornings, quiet enough early on to sit and take your time. That changes fast once lunch service starts, when it gets genuinely crowded and the pace picks up.
The Verdict
Come early if you want the quiet version of this place, since lunch turns it into something else entirely. Either way, order the avocado toast and do not skip the latte.
