The Space
Alpha Beta occupies a unit in the Jiyugaoka Concord building — a step off the main shopping street into an address that requires you to commit to finding it. The interior is clean without being clinical quieter than most of its surroundings would suggest.
The Coffee
The latte arrived balanced,espresso present but not aggressive, milk with texture rather than volume. The cold brew was the more decisive cup: clear, with a drawn-out sweetness that only comes from not rushing the process.
The cold brew had the clarity that takes patience. The latte had the balance that takes skill. You know by the second sip.
The Vibe
Staff are warm without requiring anything from you in return not performance, not conversation, not proof that you are a serious coffee person. In a neighbourhood that moves at pace, Alpha Beta functions as a pause.
The Verdict
Jiyugaoka has cafes. Alpha Beta has coffee that earns the neighbourhood. If you are on the
Toyoko or Oimachi lines, the Concord building is where you stop.
