The Space

This Byron Bay Coffee outpost sits inside ROOTS SQUARE in Ikejiri-Ohashi, a comfortable, cozy room with nicely done interior decoration and a terrace to match.

The Coffee

The oat milk latte did not deliver, thin and lacking any real coffee substance, closer to drinking oat milk on its own than an actual latte. It is a genuinely surprising miss given how consistently good the brand's other Tokyo locations have been.

It tasted like oat milk with a coffee-shaped hole in it.

The Vibe

The room itself is comfortable and well put together, easy to settle into regardless of the drink order. It is the kind of space that should make up for an off cup, and mostly does.

The Verdict

Byron Bay Coffee Ikejiri-Ohashi gets the room right and the coffee wrong, at least on this visit. Worth a second try given the brand's track record elsewhere.
