The Space
Byron Bay Coffee landed in a beautifully renovated nagaya in Kiyosumi, all raw timber, clean lines and an airy Australian energy that feels right at home in Tokyo's third-wave coffee neighbourhood. The ground floor is generous and open, with enough breathing room on the second floor that staying a while feels like the natural choice.
The Coffee
The same family farm roast that anchors every Byron Bay location shows up reliably here, with espresso drinks that are balanced and easy to trust. The meat pies and sandwiches are a genuine draw, and sitting down with coffee and a pie on a slow morning is an unusually satisfying combination.
The pies and sandwiches are not an afterthought. They change the calculation.
The Vibe
Kiyosumi-Shirakawa has a comfortable, unhurried rhythm, and this place fits it well. The staff are relaxed and welcoming, and solo visitors are clearly part of the regular crowd
The Verdict
Byron Bay Coffee Kiyosumi is the best version of this brand in Tokyo. The renovated nagaya is a serious space, the neighbourhood earns a longer stay, and the food gives you a reason to settle in.
