Atmosphere leads clearly, a genuine vinyl-first retro kissaten, literally named for the jazz records it plays, and a real nostalgic treat to sit inside. Solo-Friendliness follows close behind, built for exactly this kind of unhurried, quiet visit. Staying Power and Value both hold up reasonably well. Coffee, or here the wider drink and dessert menu, is the mildest of the five, solid without being a standout.

The Space
ELLA & LOUIS sits up a flight of stairs on the 2nd floor above a Hakusan intersection, easy to miss if you are not looking for it. The room is classic kissaten, vintage furnishings kept largely as they were, but built around a real vinyl collection rather than just decorated with one.
The Coffee
Ordered the house iced tea and the mango rare cheesecake, both genuinely good. This is not really a coffee-first stop, the drink and dessert menu is solid rather than the reason to come.
The regulars talk, the records spin, and nobody is in a hurry to leave. It is a nice treat just to sit and watch.
The Vibe
The crowd on this visit skewed entirely toward regulars decades older than the record collection, and there is something genuinely nice about sitting alone, watching them talk, and letting Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald fill the room. Ideal for solo, whether that means a book or just the music.
The Verdict
A genuine off-the-radar treat, worth the trip for the records alone. A great way to pass a slow afternoon, whether you bring a book or just come to listen.
