The Space
A compact, clean room on the ground floor of a Ginza office building. Modern lines, minimal decoration, good natural light from the street side. The room does not draw attention to itself, which leaves the coffee and the lattes room to do their job.
The Coffee
Six single-origin beans, roasted in-house each weekend. The ROAR latte is well-balanced and flavourful, and the espresso underneath it is genuinely worth paying attention to. The rainbow latte is not on the printed menu — ask at the counter, 380 yen. The food colouring used for the colours is tasteless and does not interfere with the cup.
The rainbow latte is technically off-menu. It is also the most photographed drink in Ginza. These two facts are not unrelated.
The Vibe
Ginza foot traffic with a strong tourist lean, which is expected given how much Instagram reach the rainbow latte has built. Service is friendly and professional under volume. The space is small enough that a table fills quickly and a queue forms during peak hours. Come mid-morning on a weekday if you want the calmer version.

ROAR Coffee earns its score on the quality of the roast and the efficiency of what it does with Ginza pricing. Order the ROAR latte to understand the coffee.
