Single O Ryogoku Roastworks
Kamezawa · Tokyo · Steep Index 8.4/10

A converted 1960s timber warehouse in Kamezawa where Single O roasts and serves its beans under the same roof, with indoor and outdoor seating and an espresso programme that earns the trip from central Tokyo.
The Steep Index
The 9.0 coffee and atmosphere scores reflect a roastery cafe that earns both without overlap — the space is genuinely impressive and the single origin programme is why you make the effort to get here. Value takes a slight hit for specialty pricing, and Staying Power reflects the no-wifi policy rather than any friction in the room itself.

Perfect for: working alone, slow weekend, espresso pilgrimage
The Space
A 1960s timber warehouse converted into a two-hundred-square-metre roastery and cafe, with the roasting equipment visible behind the counter and enough room that you never feel crowded. The outdoor area is the right place on a good day, and the architecture alone justifies making the detour.
The Coffee
The single origin programme rotates seriously, and the espresso and latte are pulled with the confidence that comes from roasting your own beans on the premises. Self-serve batch brew taps let you taste the single origins without commitment, which is a generous way to run a bar. The retail beans are some of the most consistent you will find in Tokyo.
The latte and the atmosphere are better than you expected.
The Vibe
Far enough from central Tokyo that everyone here made a deliberate decision to come. Friendly staff, a relaxed pace, the low hum of the roaster in the background. Good for solo and slow mornings; not the place to open a laptop.
The Verdict
The best reason to spend a Sunday in Ryogoku. Take a bag of beans home — the retail selection is one of the most honest arguments for in-house roasting you will find in the city.
