The Steep Index
Coffee Quality leads, in-house roasting backs up a genuinely good program, and the iced Chocolat Chad Latte in particular struck a nice balance between chocolate and coffee. Staying Power and Solo-Friendliness both hold up well, four counter seats put you right in front of the barista at work, and a couple of outdoor tables extend the room further. Atmosphere is solid for a space this small. Value takes the one soft spot, prices run a touch high for what is otherwise a compact stand.

The Space
Belleville Brûlerie TOKYO sits on the ground floor of (tefu) lounge, right outside Shimokitazawa Station, a tiny footprint with four counter seats and a couple of tables outside. Easy to walk right past.
The Coffee
The iced Chocolat Chad Latte was the order, a nice blend of chocolate and coffee that ran a little pricey but was executed well. In-house roasting backs up the rest of the menu, and the coffee itself is quite good.

Staff are friendly and genuinely coffee-focused. Sit at the counter and you get a front-row seat to the barista at work, one of the better small pleasures in Shimokitazawa.

Belleville Brûlerie TOKYO is a genuine hidden gem right outside the station, easy to miss and worth seeking out. Takeout works fine too if the counter is full.
