The Space
The room opens straight onto a covered terrace with stone seating and a koi pond stocked with real, sizeable carp, tucked into TRI-SEVEN ROPPONGI just off the main strip. Indoor seating is open and light filled, and between the trees, the greenery and the water it reads more like a garden than a cafe built into a commercial building.
The Coffee
The single origin Ethiopian cold brew is aromatic, with a clear note of roasted almond running through it, and it holds the same consistency Blue Bottle delivers at every one of its Tokyo locations. Pastries and sandwiches are also on offer, including a signature Roppongi sandwich, worth ordering if you are staying for more than one drink.
You forget you are in Roppongi the moment you sit down by the pond.
The Vibe
Staff are friendly and coffee centric, and the wifi is fast enough to make this a real option for solo work rather than just a stop between meetings. It is spacious enough, indoors and out, that even Roppongi's usual foot traffic does not make it feel crowded.
The Verdict
Order the cold brew, then take it out to the pond. This is one of the few real reasons to linger in Roppongi rather than just pass through it.
