The Space
COFFEE COUNTY Tokyo is small, a genuine cave-like room with custom brick texture and natural light, tucked into a quiet residential stretch a short walk from Shimokitazawa's busier streets. Background jazz plays low, and the whole space reads built for one person rather than a crowd.
The Coffee
The iced latte on a Guatemala Finca Filadelfia came dark roasted, an unusual choice in a city where light roast is close to the default, and it worked, oozing with aromatics on the nose. Staff walked through a wide bean selection and recommended a hand-drip pour, clearly proud of the range on offer.

The Vibe
Staff are genuinely nice, and the room does exactly what a small cafe should: gives a solo visitor somewhere to sit, read, and not feel rushed. Albeit tiny, it never feels cramped.
The Verdict
This is a real find in a neighbourhood already full of good cafes, distinctive enough on the coffee alone to be worth the detour. Go solo, take your time, and order the dark roast if it is on.
