Goo Coffee Roasters
Asakusabashi, Taito · Tokyo · Steep Index 8.2/10

A small, owner-run roastery a two-minute walk from Sabo, in-house Colombian beans and six seats worth squeezing into.
The Steep Index
This is a room built around one person doing the roasting and the pouring. The cold brew was nicely steeped and genuinely blueberry-forward, undercut on this visit by grounds that made it into the cup. Solo is the strongest axis, on how welcome the room feels even with six seats to share.

Perfect for: espresso pilgrimage
The Space
Small and quaint, in-house roasting equipment close enough to watch, and only a handful of seats. A two-minute walk from Sabo, on the same quiet Asakusabashi block.
The Coffee
The in-house Colombian cold brew is nicely steeped, with a real blueberry note out front. It came with grounds in the cup on this visit, a genuine mishap rather than the norm, and with a complimentary wafer that was a nice touch.
A complimentary wafer with the cold brew, and an owner who is happy to talk about both.
The Vibe
The owner runs the place himself and is super friendly about it. Small enough that you notice everyone in it, and still comfortable to sit in alone.
The Verdict
Worth the two minutes from Sabo if you are already on the block. Order the cold brew, ask the owner about the roast, and hope for a cleaner pour than this visit had.
