OPEN NAKAMEGURO
Nakameguro, Meguro · Tokyo · Steep Index 8.0/10

A clean, spacious Nakameguro cafe with fast wifi, a covered terrace and a long menu, built more for working and relaxing than for looks.
The Steep Index
Solo-friendliness and staying power lead, with fast wifi, plenty of room and a covered terrace. The matcha was the low point, since the milk drowned the tea, and the room itself is plain.
- Coffee / Drink Quality: 6.9/10
- Atmosphere: 7.8/10
- Solo-Friendliness: 9.0/10
- Value: 7.7/10
- Staying Power: 8.6/10
- Overall: 8.0/10
Perfect for: working alone, reading
The Space
There is nothing glamorous about it. The interior is clean and spacious, and the venue is also rented out for exhibitions and events. Outside there is a covered terrace with sofa seating.
The Coffee
The menu is extensive, with sandwiches, juices, pastries and other food. The open avocado sandwich was quite yummy, but the matcha was nothing to write home about, since the milk diluted it until I could hardly taste the green tea.
Nothing glamorous, and that suits a long sit.
The Vibe
The wifi is fast and the staff are cordial. It is a good place to come solo, either to work or to relax with a book on the terrace.
The Verdict
Come with a laptop or a book and settle in, and order the open avocado sandwich. Leave the matcha for somewhere else.
