The Steep Index
Atmosphere scores 8.5 for a riverside terrace, warm wood interior, and natural light that makes it easy to arrive at nine and still be there at noon. Staying power earns 8.5 for the same reason — the river, the people watching, and staff who do not hurry you out. Solo scores 8.0 because the space works just as well for one as it does for a table of six. Coffee sits at 7.0 because it is present and serviceable but not the reason to come.

The Space
A 70-seat room on the ground floor of M Terrace with sofa seating, warm wood tones, and open natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows. The terrace extends out directly over the Meguro River with enough room that it never feels crowded, even on a busy weekend morning.
The Coffee
The coffee is functional and honestly presented. Flat whites and lattes are well-made but this is not a cafe where the espresso program is the reason to visit. The food is the thing: salmon benedict, acai bowls with organic black chia seeds, handmade pasta from Awaji Island, and a daily-baked whole grain bread that shows more care than most.
Named for the beach, built around the river. The salmon benedict is the honest argument for being here.
The Vibe
The Meguro River does most of the work. A pleasant wind off the water, good people watching from the terrace, and friendly staff who pace the room without hovering. Dog-friendly and relaxed without being chaotic.
The Verdict
Not a coffee destination, but one of the better all-day spots along the river. Come for the food and the terrace, not the espresso. In Nakameguro, that is a reasonable trade.
