CAMELBACK sandwich&espresso
Kamiyamacho, Shibuya · Tokyo · Steep Index 8.3/10

A tiny takeout counter in the middle of Kamiyamacho's densest cluster of coffee and matcha spots, doing genuinely good espresso and an egg sandwich that earns its reputation, even if you have to buy a drink to get it.
The Steep Index
Coffee Quality carries this one, the caramel latte is genuinely good and worth the stop on its own. Value holds up well too, the egg sandwich is a real surprise, even with the drink-pairing requirement. Atmosphere and Solo-Friendliness both land solidly for a lowkey counter spot, though it is increasingly on the tourist radar in a neighbourhood already stacked with competition. Staying Power reflects a genuinely worthwhile stop, not just a quick grab.

The Space
CAMELBACK sits in the thick of Kamiyamacho, a pocket of Shibuya with something like seven coffee and matcha spots within easy walking distance. It is more takeout counter than cafe, with a handful of bench seats outside the store and not much more.
The Coffee
The salted caramel latte is quite good, well balanced and worth ordering on its own merits. The egg sandwich is a genuine surprise, though it only comes paired with a drink, and the caramel latte turns out to be the ideal match for it.
Get the salted caramel latte. The egg sandwich needs it anyway.
The Vibe
Staff are super friendly, and the whole operation still reads as lowkey despite getting increasingly overrun with tourists. It holds its own in a neighbourhood with no shortage of competition.
The Verdict
CAMELBACK earns its spot in one of Tokyo's densest coffee blocks with a genuinely good caramel latte and a surprising egg sandwich. Order both together and it is an easy win.
