The coffee earns its score on the flat white alone, which is clean and consistent across visits. Kamiyamacho does a lot of the atmosphere work for free, and the outdoor seating makes it one of the better people-watching perches in the area. Staying power is limited by the compact interior, but that is not really the point of this place.

The Space
Coffee Supreme takes a slim corner of Kamiyamacho and turns it into something open and unhurried, with outdoor seats that face one of the better stretches of Shibuya to watch the world go by.
The Coffee
The flat white is clean and consistent, exactly what you want from an Australasian-pedigreed operation. Beans are roasted in Melbourne and shipped weekly to Tokyo, and the freshness shows in the cup.

The Vibe
Kamiyamacho gets the balance right between residential and interesting, and Coffee Supreme sits comfortably in the middle of it. The outdoor seats draw a crowd that is relaxed rather than performative, which says something good about the street.
The Verdict
Not trying to be the most complex cafe in the city, and that restraint is part of the appeal. Come for the flat white, settle into an outdoor seat, and let the street do the rest.
