Atmosphere leads clearly and it is not close, the reveal of the hidden bar behind what looks like an ordinary coffee counter is about as distinctive as this catalog gets. Cocktail Quality follows close behind, staff pour with real care across both the coffee-based cocktails and the classic list. Solo-Friendliness and Staying Power hold at the same level, an easy room to sink into alone or with a group on the sofas. Value is the softer axis, nothing was said on price and the elaborate, reservation-gated format argues for premium rather than budget.

The Space
The name is the first joke: janai means "isn't it", as in this isn't really a coffee shop. From the street it is just a small counter. Once the reservation and the riddle line up, a hidden door opens into a dim, subterranean room split between counter seats and sofas, jazz playing low underneath it all.
The Pour
The cocktail list leans on coffee itself alongside a full classic menu, and genuine non-alcoholic options are on hand for the teetotalers in the group. Staff pour with real care, and the coffee-forward drinks are the ones worth ordering first.

The Vibe
Uber-friendly staff, low jazz, and a room built for lingering rather than rushing a drink down. Works equally well alone or with a group, the sofas doing most of the persuading either way.
The Verdict
The gimmick would be enough on its own. The cocktails hold up their end too, which is the part a lot of theme bars get wrong.
