The Space
The cafe sits on the ground floor of Yebisu Garden Place's Center Plaza, all clean lines and minimalist finishes with big windows and outdoor seating looking out over the plaza's foot traffic. It reads as one of the more design-forward specialty counters in the neighbourhood.
The Coffee
The Santa Barbara, washed, was a clean, well-balanced cup that showed off the sourcing VERVE built its name on, and the cold brew held up just as well with none of the flatness that cold brew often falls into. Both are proof that the quality from the Yoyogi Park location travels well to this second Tokyo spot.
The design says linger. The weekend crowd says get your coffee and keep walking.
The Vibe
Modern and inviting on paper, but in practice this fills up fast, and on weekends the noise level makes it a hard place to concentrate or read. It works better as a stop between errands in Ebisu than a destination to park at for hours.
