Bandit Coffee Co. — St. Petersburg

A spacious, minimalist Central Avenue cafe that opens at 7am for espresso and a full breakfast menu, then pours wine, cocktails and beer.

The Steep Index

Open and minimalist inside, with seats outdoors too. The shaken latte was decent, the scrambled egg sandwich was moist and very good, and there is a queue even on weekdays.

  • Coffee / Drink Quality: 8.0/10
  • Atmosphere: 8.8/10
  • Solo-Friendliness: 8.9/10
  • Value: 8.2/10
  • Staying Power: 8.1/10
  • Overall: 8.4/10

Perfect for: people watching, reading, brunch, no laptops, slow evening, natural wine dive

The Space

The room is spacious and minimalist, with plenty of room to sit and more seats outside. It is a full espresso bar with a bakery counter and a long breakfast menu.

The Coffee

I had the iced shaken latte, two shots shaken with ice the way a cocktail is, and it was decent. The egg sandwich was the better order, scrambled eggs on a bun, moist and delicious.

Coffee and a cocktail list under one roof.

The Vibe

It opens at 7am and there is a queue even on weekdays, because the neighbourhood loves it. The same counter pours wine, cocktails and beer, which is unusual for a coffee shop.

The Verdict

Come alone to people watch or just chill out, since there is no wifi and it is not a place to work. Order the egg sandwich, and arrive early or expect to wait.
